are available
to all libraries using InfoAnytime. On this page, you will find
posters, bookmarks, press-releases, logos (new and original), and a
powerpoint presentation. The posters have a blank area on the bottom
to fill in your library's URL (web address) where the program is
located. There are also two different logos - the first (original)
includes the words "Reference 24/7 Service". The new version simply includes "Reference Service" - this was to accommodate the libraries that chose to promote InfoAnytime as an "in
addition to" or "when we're closed" type service. Please use the logo
that fits your service best. The power point presentation can be used
by any participating library to promote InfoAnytime at different
venues.

ther Ideas: When the library is closed.... In your closing announcements, remind patrons that they can continue to receive help from a live librarian through InfoAnytime. Record a message on your library's answering machine: "The library is now closed. However, you can still contact a live librarian, 24/7 through InfoAnytime. Visit the library's website to connect." Sign on the book drop. Sign in the door, next to your hours. Can you customize your receipt printers? Or overdue notices? Consider adding a line promoting InfoAnytime. When the library is open.... Set screensavers on public terminals to remind patrons about InfoAnytime. Table tents on workspaces. Many librarians tell us that it wasn't until they actually used IAT themselves that they truly fell in love. These true believers know that to know IAT, is to love IAT. At staff meetings, give IAT a test drive, brainstorm promotional ideas, etc. Hand out IAT bookmarks when your patrons check-out. Circulation staff often have loads of face time with patrons. Plus, they are usually the last library staff to see your patrons before they leave. Have the circ staff test out IAT so they can talk about it. Neighbors, Friends, Supporters.... Schools (at least the ones that know about IAT) have been among the biggest supporters. Make sure your local school contacts are familiar with IAT and ask them to add the IAT logo with link to your webpage. IM and teens go hand-in-hand. If you have a Teen Advisory Board, make sure they know about IAT. They'll be one of your best spokespeople. |
